Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as senior staff scientist in the Human Immunology Core with cost sharing from research grant funding. The individual should be highly experienced in the establishment, optimization, validation and performance of complex immunologic assays including multiplex bead arrays and immunophenotyping. In addition, experience in antibody engineering, cloning, expression and specificity analysis is needed for this position. Expertise in computational modeling and big data analysis are useful additional skills for this position. The individual should also be able to work in a highly collaborative team science environment to support ongoing projects in the laboratory that span basic research.
Job Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to perform research to develop and perform high-quality complex immune monitoring assays for the evaluation of immune-mediated diseases, including autoimmune disease, as well as monitoring of therapy. The individual should be able to design and execute experiments independently, focusing on B/T cell repertoire profiling, antibody cloning and expression, antibody specificity analysis, molecular modeling, and immunophenotyping. Proficiency in basic molecular and cellular immunology techniques such as cloning, cell culture, multidimensional flow cytometry, ELISPOT is expected. Strong scientific communication skills including written reports and PowerPoint presentations are preferred.

Qualifications
Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree and at least 5 years' experience in immunology. Experience in a broad range of basic molecular and cellular immunology techniques such as cloning, B and T cell repertoire profiling, multidimensional flow cytometry, ELISPOT is preferred. Strong scientific communication skills, both written and oral, are preferred. The individual should also be able to work in a highly collaborative team science and core lab environment to support ongoing projects.
