Staff Scientist - Embedded AI (all genders)

We are looking for an experienced AI/ML Researcher to lead high-quality, industry-relevant research in machine learning and signal processing.
You will work in a team with strong connections to international academic and industry partners.

Your leadership responsibilities include:

Developing AI/ML models to analyze data and solve real-world problems, such as in computer vision or signal processing.
Designing experiments to rigorously compare your methods with relevant baselines.
Acquiring, managing, and executing research projects with industrial and academic partners, in close collaboration with team members.
Publishing results in peer-reviewed international conferences and scientific journals.

Your profile:

PhD in Computer Science or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or Physics.
At least 4 years of practical experience in AI/ML and data science, ideally applied to real-world problems.
Strong understanding of vision data and processing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
Fluent in English; German is an advantage.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) in occupational group G (G1 salary = EUR 5.546, paid 14 times a year). Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. We offer a gross salary in the range between EUR 85.000 to EUR 120.000 (annual, based on an All-in contract and bonus).
