The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business comprises the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, and the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. It focuses on flexible, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary business education, with nearly 250 research faculty, 46,000 alumni, and 3,300 students.

The Office of Marketing and Communications supports enrollment, alumni relations, philanthropy, and brand visibility. The communications team develops messaging and content strategies for diverse audiences.

The Staff Writer Opportunity: Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications, the Staff Writer creates messaging to enhance the college's brand. Responsibilities include drafting stories, articles, and press releases; translating complex information into accessible content; conducting interviews and research; creating content for various formats; collaborating with partners; and adhering to branding guidelines.

Additional contributions may include developing advertising copy, assisting with media relations, and providing writing support for projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience in journalism or equivalent.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written, editorial, and research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Creative problem-solving and adaptability.
• Experience promoting inclusion and wellbeing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in academic or media environments.
• Familiarity with WordPress and SEO tools.
• Ability to build relationships and manage priorities.
• Some travel may be required.

This is a full-time position based in Ithaca, NY, with a pay range of $65,447.00 - $75,632.00 annually. Cornell University is an equal opportunity employer.
