Job Description Summary:
Under the guidance of a faculty Biostatistician/Data Scientist, the Statistician I will carry out data preparation responsibilities related to basic, clinical and/or population health research; perform introductory to intermediate-level statistical analysis and programming associated with research projects; and assist with the preparation of written reports, manuscripts, and grant applications with investigators.

Job Duties
- Compiles, analyzes, and reports statistical data for various projects including, but not limited to, manual and computer-aided data abstraction and evaluation, clinical trial design, computerized imaging, bioinformatics, and computational genomics.
Work Experience:
- Five (5) years of relevant experience. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
- One (1) year of experience with mainframe and/or PC databases, document processing, and statistical software such as SAS, R, Stata, or SPSS.
Education: Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics or related field, or undergraduate degree in similar field of study with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Work Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience with mainframe and/or PC databases, document processing, and statistical software.
- Two (2) years of experience in statistical consulting, data analysis and design related to basic, clinical and/or population health.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
