Annual Leave: 30days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield/Remote flexible working

We are seeking a talented individual to join the Primary Science Quality Mark team at an exciting time of development. While some on-site attendance will be required, the role offers a high degree of flexibility and can be largely undertaken remotely.

Main duties and responsibilities

The STEM Education Lead - Primary Science Quality Mark will report to the Head of Programme Delivery and work closely with the Programme Director to provide leadership and professional support for the development and delivery of the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) programme. This role involves overseeing key aspects of programme organisation, with the postholder leading external professional teams to ensure effective communication, rigorous quality assurance and the highest standards of service delivery. They will also drive continuous improvement initiatives for the PSQM core short course programme. Under the guidance of the Programme Director, the postholder will additionally contribute to the development of new STEM business strands and short courses.

Skills and experience required

You will have proven substantial experience of teaching science in a school context and substantial experience of planning and leading continuing professional development for teachers from different schools. You will have experience of curriculum or project leadership in science or other STEM subjects and a strong understanding of the curriculum in science and other STEM subjects and track record in applying this to promote high quality learning and teaching in or across primary schools.

Experience of leading and managing individuals and teams, an understanding of models of effective CPD and an understanding of approaches to evaluating the impact of continuing professional development would be advantageous. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise and progress varied workstreams. You will have the ability to analyse varied data and information to monitor aspects of CPD programmes and inform planning. You will be adaptable and flexible in approach with a can-do attitude to problem solving and the ability to apply initiative and develop new strategies.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent, or proven experience. You will also hold a recognised teaching qualification.
