Job Description
Reports to Operations Supervisor or Surgical Technician as required. Performs services related to the setup, reprocessing and care of patient use equipment & surgical instruments. Performs inventory control functions related to supply areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- An accredited High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in Sterile Processing, Nursing or Surgery with strong commitment to implementing Infection Control, disinfection and sterilization principles preferred. Basic computer competency required.
- Willingness to learn and understand surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and decontamination and sterile processing equipment.
- Understands and can identify the cleaning products, methods and procedures used in SPD for each item based on manufacturers IFU’s preferred.
- Physical requirements: visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; ability to hear (with or without aides); ability to orally communicate; good manual dexterity; ability to push, pull, roll, and lift up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk frequently; ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently
