Head of Centre at Karolinska Institutet's Centre for AI Innovation

We are looking for a qualified centre manager to help us lead and develop the activities at the Centre for AI Innovation at Karolinska Institutet. The position is located at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience and is part of close collaboration with the Swedish node in the large European TEF-HEALTH initiative.
Your mission
You are expected to lead the operational activities and staff within Karolinska Institutet's Centre for AI Innovation. You are also expected to establish new services that support the development and implementation of AI innovations. The role also includes contributing to a strategy for the center's development and supporting the implementation of AI collaboration with related projects and key actors in AI, healthcare, innovation and health data, both nationally, within Europe, and internationally.
The role has a close connection to the TEF-HEALTH project, which means that you as a manager will have a special focus on proactively developing and implementing new services within TEF-Health in consultation with the Swedish node for TEF-Health. You will also work for sustainable operations within the centre, partly by identifying and contributing to future grant applications within AI Innovation, and partly by developing sustainable business models and synergies both at KI and at national and European level.
Who are you?
We believe that you are a driven, outgoing and socially skilled person with a great interest in, and long experience of, AI development, business development and project management. We also believe that you have a great interest and long experience in coordinating and developing networks and larger research projects. You have a deep understanding of the needs in healthcare regarding the development and implementation of AI both at KI, as well as in Sweden and Europe. You have extensive experience in leading, coordinating and representing projects and activities. You have a broad experience of collaboration with industry, research and healthcare, authorities and other relevant parties within the innovation ecosystem. You have excellent communication and social skills and are thus able to create reliable relationships and necessary partnerships. Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Documented experience in supporting the development and implementation of AI in healthcare
Documented experience in coordinating and developing networks and major research projects in AI and Life Science
Documented experience in leading, coordinating and representing projects and businesses with a focus on AI and Life Science
Documented experience of collaboration with industry, research and healthcare
Documented experience in providing support to companies for the introduction of innovations to the market in Life Science
Documented experience in product development of services in Life Science
Be able to express yourself freely in both speech and writing in both English and Swedish
Meritorious:
Documented experience of working with grant applications within AI Innovation, as well as development of sustainable business models
Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape for medical devices
Experience from both the business community and authorities
