Department Summary
The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. Position Summary
Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the University of Oregon's women's basketball program and other assigned sports. Provide and implement individualized conditioning, strength, speed, and flexibility programs for student-athletes. Committed to continual learning of enhanced training methods in the field. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.
Special Requirement
This position will require a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain UO Driver's Certification.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science or related field, specializing in physical preparation of elite athletes.
- Current National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (CSCS) or SCCC.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of strength and conditioning to high-performance basketball athletes.
- 3 years of full time experience as a strength and conditioning coach working at the collegiate or professional level.
Professional Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in exercise science or related field.
- Experience working with sports performance technology to inform strength and conditioning program design.
- Experience as a strength and conditioning coach for a women's basketball team within a Division I, power-4 conference.
