The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft
Word and Excel, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. They
will have the ability to analyze and organize data, and to prepare
and maintain reports and spreadsheets. Excellent customer service
and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to
work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The
candidate should be able to develop proficiency in the Banner
Student Information System and maintain working knowledge of
applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. Additionally, the
role requires strong organizational skills, including adaptability,
dependability, multitasking, and the ability to work efficiently
and accurately in an environment with frequent interruptions, while
maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities include but are not limited
to:
- Processes complex financial transactions.
- Processes payments for students and 3rd parties.
- Tracks, audits and monitors a variety of documents related to
student accounting.
- Prepares moderately complex reports.
- Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding student
accounts and financial status.
- Works with 3rd party collection agencies.
Requirements:
(A) Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited
college or university with an Associate's degree in accounting,
business, or a closely
related field and two years of experience maintaining financial
accounts and records; OR
(B) Completion of 60 credit hours at a NYS registered or
regionally accredited college or university which must have
included at least eight credit hours in accounting or
bookkeeping and two years of experience maintaining financial
accounts and records; OR
(C) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency
diploma and four years of experience maintaining financial accounts
and records; OR
(D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as
defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa
sponsorship.
Additional Information:
The hourly rate for this position is
$22.44.
Appointment will be provisional pending
satisfactory completion of the competitive Civil Service testing
requirement.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results
of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background
Check.
