General Responsibilities:

S/he will assist the Assistant Director with the implementation and assessment of student programs and resources within the Office of Student Family Engagement. Will provide direct support and oversight of the planning and implementation of the monthly student programs, which includes the bi-weekly Friday Night Live Series. In this role, s/he will directly advise a student programming board with responsibilities for creating monthly student programming. In addition, this staff member will be responsible for the development, programming, and assessment of UAB's Got Talent event. The person in this role will assist in the planning, development, coordination, and assessment of the following programs, including, but not limited to, ConnectFest, Miss UAB Scholarship Program, and Crawfish Boil/State Fair. During peak times of the year, this position will also support the Coordinator for Student Organizations in reviewing both Organization Registration and Event Registration through the University's online involvement platform, Engage. Will assist with the development, coordination, and assessment of campus-wide programming weeks, including Homecoming, Creed, and Grad Week. The person in this role will be expected to communicate regularly with faculty, staff, students, and community members regarding relevant issues and topics.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assesses the development needs of students and student organizations through intentional advising strategies.
  2. Designs programs and services to promote student learning and development of student leaders, which includes providing logistical and administrative support for student events.
  3. Facilitates appropriate data collection and evaluation efforts using current technology and methods.
  4. Utilizes results of data collection and evaluation efforts to inform programming, advising and future priorities.
  5. Collaborates with other University entities to produce programs and services for students.
  6. Maintains accurate, current, and confidential records for budgeting and student information and marketing duties including the maintenance of accurate and current website content.
  7. May supervise undergraduate and graduate student employees.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range:

$35,570 - $42,000

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Sciences or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
