Job Summary
The Student Development Program Assistant Director is an individual contributor responsible for supporting students educational and co-curricular development through engaging activities and events that foster belonging and community building. This role collaborates with campus and community partners while assisting department leadership with goal setting, program evaluation, and assessment.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Plan, execute, and continuously refine impactful co-curricular programs and events that enhance student belonging, engagement, and holistic development.
Job Duty 2 - Coordinate signature departmental initiatives and open-campus events, ensuring consistency, quality, and accessibility.
Job Duty 3 - Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including academic departments, alumni, community organizations, and civic agencies to expand program reach and relevance.
Job Duty 4 - Integrate student success and outcomes data into program design, implementation, and assessment to support institutional goals.
Job Duty 5 - Conduct program evaluations and contribute to annual reporting and strategic goal-setting processes within the department.
Job Duty 6 - Facilitate workshops, seminars, and developmental opportunities focused on student leadership, social wellness, and intercultural competency.
Job Duty 7 - Assist in budget development and management, ensuring effective resource allocation and compliance with institutional procedures.
Job Duty 8 - Create and coordinate marketing and communication materials in partnership with university communications teams.
Job Duty 9 - Represent the department in work groups, campus initiatives, or meetings as needed.
Job Duty 10 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Weekends and evenings may be required for special events, dinners, football games, etc; some travel
Required Experience
Six or more years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Ability to coordinate activities among diverse groups and stakeholders is preferred Fluency in a second language may be preferred
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This job requires a working knowledge of marketing and educational outreach related program planning and design, especially as it relates to assigned target group of potential and/or enrolled students. Also required are skills in maintaining a detail orientation, organization, presentation, customer relations and communications.
Other Information
Salary range: $64,000.00 - $70,000.00
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job grade: A9
This is not a supervisory position.
This position does have any financial responsibilities.
This position will not be required to drive.
This role is considered a position of trust.
This position does require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position will not travel
This position does not require security clearance.
Experience in program planning and evaluation.
Knowledge of student development theory, program assessment, and training.
Experience in student employee management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated experience in student advocacy and support.
