Student Employee-Dept of Art-Graphic Design Lab Assistant
Nature & Purpose of Position
The Department of Art is looking for an intern with graphic design experience. Duties:
General responsibilities
- Help get and keep the GD area in order.
- You will be assigned specific tasks during the semester involving rearranging, cleaning, planning, setup.
- Make sure that accurate lab hours are posted in clearly visible locations.
- Possess basic troubleshooting skills for Mac computers. Understand how to force quit applications and force restart computers if necessary.
- Assist students with technical problems to the best of your ability.
- Maintain proficiency with software such the Adobe Creative Suite and iMovie.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge in regard to lab printing equipment. Resources/Manuals for all printers should be studied.
- Maintain a clean lab and classroom environment and make sure students follow established lab rules.
- Report any concerns to supervisor via email asap.
Other Requirements for the Position
Required Qualifications:
- Must be full time Student
- Must have 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on a Mac
- Works collaboratively in team environment
- Aware of current best practices in creating accessible documents a plus
