Required

• Experience teaching in virtual environments.
• Experience with residential environments and Living/Learning communities.
• Teaching and advising experience in a higher education setting.
• Ability to assess the student’s career interests and aptitude to match academic and co-curricular programming.
• Experience with Blackboard and Banner.
• Knowledge of community resources. Community engagement.
• Demonstrated counseling background and ability to support and assist in the student’s social, emotional, and psychological development (wellness theoretical model experience).
• Ability to provide emotional support and distinguish when crisis intervention might be needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Job Summary: This full-time position involves developing and overseeing strategies to support students in their academic success and leadership. Will report directly to Vice President for Student Affairs and will engage in various critical functions.

Essential Job Functions (Order from most to least performed duties):

1. Develop and implement student success and leadership strategies for students.
2. Work directly with funders to ensure alignment on available resources to support student needs and opportunities.
3. Assist with onboarding of new students and their families and ensure they are well-informed about available resources and opportunities.
4. Collaborate with other student success areas within the university such as academic advising, tutorial resources, residential living, campus activities, civic engagement, etc.
5. Monitor and support the student’s academic progress and participation in the program.
6. Plan, develop, and facilitate networking events, enrichment activities, campus and/or community projects and other support tasks as identified.
7. Identify avenues or pathways regarding scholarship opportunities such as internships, study abroad programs, and master’s degree programs.
8. Compile and submit program data, required reports, or requests for information to the appropriate staff as required and permitted by law.
9. Collaborate with the Living Learning Communities Coordinators to plan, implement, and attend programming and activities that align with the LLC’s specific theme, aiming to build community and deepen engagement.
10. Attend meetings, trainings, and events as require by respective student areas and programs.
11. Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the university.
