Student Enterprise Advisor
About Us
At the University of East London (UEL), our Vision 2028 strategy sets out our ambition to become the UK's leading careers-first university. A central strand of this work is our Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Strategy. A university-wide commitment to ensuring every student has access to the skills, networks, and support to turn ideas into impact.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial-minded Student Enterprise Advisor to play a pivotal role in making that commitment a reality. This is one of two dedicated enterprise advisor positions. And it sits at the heart of how UEL supports aspiring founders and freelancers. Taking them from the first idea through to incorporation and early-stage business development.
The post holder will lead the delivery of BACK:ED, UEL's flagship start-up funding and support programme, while managing a caseload of student entrepreneurs through one-to-one coaching, curriculum-embedded enterprise sessions, and a weekly programme of workshops and activities. Working closely with aligned academic schools, they will help integrate enterprise education meaningfully into students' learning journeys, with a particular focus on freelancing, consultancy, and early-stage venture creation.
About the role
This role combines programme leadership, student-facing delivery, curriculum collaboration, and external partnership management. You will work alongside the wider Enterprise team and engage regularly with incubators, investors, alumni entrepreneurs, and the broader start-up ecosystem to ensure students are connected to the networks and opportunities that matter.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for entrepreneurship and a proven track record of supporting early-stage founders or freelancers. You will be comfortable delivering engaging workshops, working one-to-one with students at different stages of their journey, and contributing to the data, reporting, and evaluation that underpins our institutional enterprise offer.
In return, you will join a forward-thinking, mission-led institution where enterprise and social mobility are embedded at the core of our strategy. UEL is currently ranked second in the UK for graduate business starts. A position this role will play a direct part in sustaining and growing.
This is more than a programme role. It is an opportunity to be a visible and influential figure in shaping the next generation of UEL entrepreneurs, helping students transform their ideas into ventures with real-world impact. If you are passionate about early-stage enterprise, thrive in a student-focused environment, and want to make a measurable difference, we would love to hear from you.
