Job Summary
Campus Recreation & Wellness is currently accepting applications for the position of Student Facility Lead- Institutional Student Worker, on the Gainesville Campus. This position is responsible for serving in a student leadership capacity by assisting in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment within the Recreation Center through excellent customer service and upholding facility standards.
Campus Recreation & Wellness offers a healthy, friendly work atmosphere that prioritizes student development and accommodates academic schedules. Uniforms are required. All positions are subject to semester GPA and conduct checks.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead student employee during assigned shifts, overseeing all student facility staff and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly. This includes enforcing recreation center policies and procedures, verifying that student staff clock in and out properly, and communicating urgent facility needs to the Facilities Coordinator in a timely manner.
- Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications for the duration of employment.
- Serve as the Risk Management Lead in the absence of professional staff, including conducting regular facility walkthroughs to ensure equipment, spaces, and amenities are clean, safe, and functioning properly.
- Ensure Accident and Incident Reports are correctly utilized and thoroughly completed.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with questions, concerns, and general facility information, as well as helping resolve minor conflicts or patron behavior issues and escalate concerns to professional staff when needed.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training for new staff members.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Meet ongoing eligibility requirements, including semester GPA and conduct checks. Campus Recreation and Wellness is committed to supporting student success and will connect employees with appropriate campus resources when needed.
- Must be available to work 10-12 hours/week.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have recreation background, strong communication skills, desire to serve in a leadership role, and be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs.
- Needs to have demonstrated leadership skills throughout employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
- Applicants must have worked for the Recreational facility department for at least one semester prior to application.
