Description:
SUNY Purchase is looking for an SFS Advisor. The SFS Advisor/Scolarship Coordinator is responsible for advising students about thier finaical aid and student account, and for the administration of the College's Scholarship programs, under the direction of the Director of SFS. The Coordinator will be knowledgeable in all areas of financial aid and student accounts in order to provide comprehensive counseling to students and parents regarding all aspects of their accounts.

The Coordinator will assist the Director with the execution of additional programs such as payment plans, billing, collections and e-refunds. Attention to detail and the maintenance of accurate records is key to the position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Serve as a member of the front desk staff, counseling students/parents and responding to their inquiries regarding financial aid and student accounts.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents and the general public.
• Assist in development of innovative strategies to deliver scholarships through increased use of technology.
• Produces reports as needed from Banner/ARGOS or manual systems. Maintains and updates the data in Banner on student screens.
• Present information to potential and admitted students in a public format as necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines and the ability to manage detailed information. Excellent record keeping is required.
• Answers general questions regarding components of the financial aid package. Also, responds to inquiries on the billing process and payments to student accounts.
• Prepares invoices and backup documentation to the PCF budget office for payment of scholarship funding.
• Monitor payment plan activity and perform outreach to students and parents.
• Assist with notifications to students regarding delinquent accounts and transfer to Attorney General's office
• Assist in the production of e-bills, 1098-T's, student refunds and other SFS outreach.



Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree is preferred. A strong working knowledge of Financial Aid/Student Accounts is preferred. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and ARGOS system's specifically as it relates to the financial aid and student accounts receivable modules is desired.

Experience:
Two to four years of experience in an academic setting with significant computer experience including advanced knowledge of Excel required.
