Student Hourly Assistant | Language & Communication | Public Relations & Marketing
Job Description
The Student Hourly Assistant | Language & Communication | Public Relations & Marketing, under general supervision, will assist in promoting PVAMU-TV and the network's programs. This person will manage the network's social media outlets and prepare weekly press releases to be submitted to the university's marketing and communications office.
Responsibilities
- Manage network's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.).
- Write and submit weekly press releases promoting network activities to local media outlets.
- Create printed material that promotes the network and activities.
- Maintain network website.
- Launch media campaigns to increase program viewership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA.
- No prior experience necessary.
- For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Communications Major.
- Junior or Senior classification.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, etc.).
- Proficient in social media platforms.
