In this Student Operations Coordinator role, you will coordinate student operations across FEIT workshops and makerspaces. You will streamline rostering, inductions and documentation, helping deliver safe, reliable and inclusive student spaces.
What you will deliver:
- Coordinate day-to-day activities and rosters for Student Operations Officers to ensure consistent coverage and service.
- Act as the operational link, sharing priorities, policy updates, incidents and training needs across the operations team.
- Maintain and improve shift documentation, SOPs and operational reports, capturing service metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Support scheduling and administration of inductions, workshops and training, including attendance and competency records.
- Assist with club and event liaison, coordinating makerspace access and supervision for student projects and activities.

- Bring experience working in customer service environments delivering reliable, high-quality support to diverse users.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination and information sharing.
- Show a growth mindset, contributing practical ideas to improve processes, documentation and student service experiences.
- Offer proven ability to follow procedures in operational settings, escalating issues and risks appropriately when needed.
- Hold familiarity with laboratory, workshop or makerspace environments, including basic health and safety practices.
- Bring experience supporting students or student-focused services, ideally within education or research-intensive organisations.

Your new team
You will join the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology’s Infrastructure Team, supporting cutting-edge teaching and research spaces. The Workshop, Makerspaces and Engagement Team enables safe, hands-on learning through well-managed workshops, makerspaces and informal student areas. You will collaborate with technical, operational and student-facing colleagues, contributing to consistently excellent user experiences across FEIT.
