We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic client focused individual as a Student Placement Officer to join our team in the WIL, Internships and Placement Services.
- 18.125 hrs per week | Fixed term to 1 Feb 2027
- Located at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus
- HEWL 5: $76,633 – $86,920 (pro rata) plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Student Placement Officer, you will deliver positive student placement outcomes by successfully executing placement agreements, ensuring alignment to relevant governance frameworks and accreditation requirements. Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality and accurate placement advisory services to staff, students, and placement partners.
- Ensuring all student placement partner agreements are current to maintain relationships and collaborative links with relevant external organisations, industry partners, and placement providers to promote community engagement and the successful placement of students.
- Contributing to a high-performance culture within the student placement team, ensuring the timely and efficient administration of student placement programs within the Academy’s Colleges.
- Assessing and monitoring the student’s eligibility for student placement according to course requirements, placement policy, procedures, and host requirements.
- Monitoring, documenting, and reporting on student placement activity by maintaining University-wide student placement databases.
- Contributing to continual improvement of the service delivery and service satisfaction against the objectives of the placements team.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
In this role, you will gain diverse experience in a high-volume administrative environment, managing client enquiries and sensitive matters. You will apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate shifting priorities and conflicting deadlines, taking appropriate corrective action as needed.
Your effective written and verbal communication, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, will support the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused service with positive outcomes. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. The role also requires intermediate computer literacy across a range of applications, including the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe programs.
