Job Title: Student Research Assistant (Scientific Illustrator)
Department: Arts and Sciences | Anthropology-JM
Student Research Assistant will be responsible for preparing scientific illustrations in a variety of formats for project in the Human Complexity Lab. Responsible for attending lab meetings, presenting preliminary results, iterating with team members, and working independently.
Qualifications and skills needed to perform the job
Candidate needs to have good illustration and visualization skills. Hand drawing, Adobe Illustrator, and other formats are ideal. Preferred qualifications include coursework or experience translating scientific theories, concepts, and results in visually compelling formats. Good interpersonal skills for working in an interdisciplinary environment are highly valued.
Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
Additional Information: Location: Smith Laboratory (0065) Position Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Scheduled Hours: 5 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
