Why your role matters
The Student Success Administrator & Receptionist Administrator (Student Reception) plays a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support and exceptional customer service within the Nura Gili Centre for Indigenous Programs. As the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors, this position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional reception environment while managing enquiries, assessing requests and correspondence, and directing matters to the appropriate teams.
The role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day administrative operations that support the Nura Gili Indigenous Student Success Team, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively to meet the Centre’s operational requirements. Working in a dynamic and student-focused environment, the successful candidate will contribute to enhancing the student experience through responsive service delivery, strong organisational skills and effective stakeholder engagement.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Nura Gili, the position also provides administrative support to the Director, Nura Gili. This role has no direct reports.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Contribute to a positive and dynamic Nura Gili community, informed by culturally affirming values, experiences and shared aspirations, by creating a welcoming space, maintaining effective channels of communication, and responding to urgent and often sensitive matters appropriately.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and respond to a range of in-person, telephone and email enquiries by prioritising requests and correspondence, then actioning or escalating as necessary.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Indigenous Student Success Team and oversee day-to-day administrative operations, supporting other Nura Gili teams as required.
- Provide effective specialist advice relating to administrative guidelines, processes and activities.
- Develop and maintain detailed filing systems, spreadsheets, databases, websites and other administrative systems.

- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create positive, vibrant and respectful relationships.
- Demonstrated time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a valid paid Working with Children’s Check.
