Student Success Advising Technology Trainer (EAB Navigate)

The Student Success Advising Technology Trainer (EAB Navigate) reports to the Director of the Student Success Collaborative. This role oversees the implementation, development, data integrity, and ongoing training of EAB Navigate to ensure effective use among faculty and staff. This role will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure that this technology system is connected campus-wide to support greater outcomes in student retention, persistence and graduation.

The purpose of the Student Success Collaborative Office is to support academic and student support units with the integration of student success data into strategy and operations. Leveraging data analytics, the Office provides university stakeholders with data reports and data insights to assist with planning and executing student success initiatives and programs that improve student engagement.

Overview of Responsibilities:

Technology Training and Knowledge Development

  • Guides workflow development to include EAB campus platforms and other academic advising and engagement technologies.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive training strategy, developing course materials and leading workshops campus wide.
  • Creates clear, user-friendly instructional materials, including digital guides, video tutorials, and interactive training exercises for both in person and remote learning.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments to identify advisor technology skill gaps and collects feedback to improve the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Serves as a first line of support for advisor-related technology issues and works with the Office of Information Technology to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues for optimal user experience.

Technology Workflow Development

  • Manages administrative system tasks and feature implementation.
  • Coordinates and works with the Office of Information Technology to remove real or perceived barriers to utilization.
  • Develops and executes outreach campaigns to ensure high-risk students are receiving support and assistance in a coordinated manner.
  • Works in concert with the Office of the Registrar to provide validation of curricular updates, four-year degree plans, and knowledge bases to ensure for data integrity of advising and student success resources.
  • Facilitates and leads troubleshooting processes for the EAB Navigate system and other student success technology resources.
  • Develops in concert with other internal stakeholders an understanding of the best practices in student advising workflows and properly coordinates technology into the student support framework for the campus.
  • This position will ensure that accurate and complete student data is included as a part of the reporting process with EAB Navigate.
  • Creates a robust framework that establishes clear policies and processes for managing EAB Navigate data, which ensure for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with higher education regulations such as FERPA.

Project Management

  • Serves as a project coordinator to assist with successfully achieving EAB system project priorities and benchmarks for usage among internal stakeholders and teams.
  • Works as the project manager facilitating opportunities to satisfy technology user demand throughout the university.
  • Develops and executes outreach campaigns to ensure high-risk students are receiving support and assistance in a coordinated manner.

Data Management and Integrity

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze student success data to inform and improve academic and student engagement practices campus wide.
  • Incorporates data collection protocols and best practices to ensure that faculty and staff understand the importance of data integrity when engaging in with the EAB platform.
  • Through providing accurate data, assist faculty and staff with identifying at-risk students that will assist academic advisors in creating timely, targeted inventions for students.
  • Works in concert with the Office of the Registrar to provide validation of curricular updates, four-year degree plans, and knowledge base to ensure for data integrity of advising and student success resources.

Internal and External Stakeholder Partnership and Engagement

  • Creates operating practices within internal colleges, schools, departments and other programs focused on increasing student success technology utilization, particularly that of EAB Navigate to help increase student success outcomes campus wide.

Student Advising and Success Ideation

  • Provides accurate data to assist faculty and staff with identifying at-risk students and to assist academic advisors in creating timely, targeted inventions for students.
  • Serves as a first line of support for advisor-related technology issues and works with the Office of Information Technology to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues for optimal user experience.

Requirements and Preferences

Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies: Not Mandatory
Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Department Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree, Three to five years of experience with technology system integration, implementation and support.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: Master’s degree, Strong presentation, training, and consulting skills, Excellent written and oral communication, Proven project management and consulting skills, The ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse campus stakeholders.
