The Student Success Coach position gives individuals the opportunity to positively impact the lives of students while meeting with them one-on-one. Coaches provide tailored strategies for success to each student.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function:
This position will coach, mentor, and guide high-priority, high-need students to include academically at-risk students through a caseload support model. This position will provide comprehensive academic coaching and student success strategies to help students maintain academic progress and timely degree completion, ensure appropriate and accurate academic records, execute departmental/divisional administrative policies, and use judgement and discretion appropriately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain regular contact with student caseloads to nurture students and assist in their academic journey.
- Support students and provide services in person and remotely, as needed.
- Monitor student academic progress, communicating with each student regularly on a personalized basis; intervene as necessary to assist those students having difficulty.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to students to aid in their development of the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs they need to succeed in collage and their careers.
- Collaborate with students' assigned academic advisor(s) to help student understand and develop a degree plan and timely graduation plan.
- Regularly use student success technology to manage caseload, facilitate outreach, conduct campaigns, and input documentation/notes on student services and individualized success plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student advising, mentoring, tutoring, contacts, progress towards degree, and other student learning activities.
- Liaison with Disability Services and other support areas across campus to provide learning assistant to high priority, high need students.
- Participate in regular training and professional development to maintain and increase skill sets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution by date of employment.
- One year of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, academic coaching, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, or related field in higher education.
- Familiarity with Banner and Degree Works.
- A Board-Certified Coach credential or International Coaching Federation recognized Certification Program.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration.
- Ability to identify barriers to student success and facilitate effective remedies.
- Ability to synthesize information and prioritize goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to utilize advising software tools.
