Essential Job Duties:
Student/ Customer Service (30%)
- Develop and maintain effective instructional planning relationships with fellow full- and part-time staff members, as well as professional, productive interactions with students enrolled in the Elevate program.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of student level data sources and additional measures of student performance to improve services and overall program effectiveness
- Analyze and synthesize multiple sources of data in the context of Program and University policies and procedures, along with a philosophy of inclusion and fostering self-determination and apply solutions to student supports
- Engage in reciprocal mentoring with other full- and part-time staff to improve overall program delivery in support of student success
- Communicate and coordinate across a large service delivery team, adhering to agreed upon procedures to achieve program outcomes
Other Work/Responsibilities:
In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, there may be occasional opportunities to take on additional duties. This offers an opportunity to build on your skills, explore new areas, and gain a deeper understanding of the department's operations.
Minimum Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated capacity to work with young adults and families from culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with universal design for learning, direct instruction, and other effective educational practices
- Teaching/ co-teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Documented experience teaching or delivering instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in an educational setting
- Familiarity with assistive technology and other tools that support academic success
- Knowledge of effective practices in secondary and postsecondary education and training for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of person-centered/ person-driven planning practices
- Knowledge of peer mentorship and allyship for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
