Jefferson Middle College is seeking a casual, part-time staff member to support both new and returning Middle College students. The ideal candidate has training in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); a strong interest in supporting students who have been historically marginalized; and a deep understanding of the needs of first-generation college students.
What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For
Primary Duties
- Work effectively with all Middle College students, including those from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds and identities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students attending the center
- Support students in-person, by phone, and via email
- Refer students to appropriate academic and non-academic resources, including the Accessible Education Office, Financial Aid, Student Learning Centers, Basic Needs Hub, and Identity Centers
- Present program information to small and large groups of students
- Assist students with class registration
- Assist with planning, organizing, and executing department events, presentations, and meetings
- Utilize a variety of technologies, including:
- Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
- Zoom and Google Meet
- Banner systems

- Service Assistant/Maintenance: Employee can work up to 599 hours in a fiscal year
- Skilled Craft: Employee can work up to 599 hours in a fiscal year
- Technical Assistant: Employee can work up to 599 hours in a fiscal year
- Professional: Employee can work up to 959 hours in a fiscal year
- Management/Supervisory: Employee can work up to 1039 hours in a fiscal year
Casual Compensation Range $16.30 - $16.30
