Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Student Support Coordinator to ensure equitable access to campus programs, services, and facilities for students, staff, and visitors with disabilities. This role involves coordinating accommodations, promoting inclusive practices, and collaborating across departments to uphold institutional values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intake and case management for students with disabilities.
- Coordinate accommodations in collaboration with faculty and departments.
- Facilitate access to assistive technology and academic support services.
- Educate students on self-advocacy, academic strategies, and self-care.
- Engage in outreach and training related to disability inclusion and compliance.
- Stay current on disability law in higher education and contribute to policy development.
- Respond to accessibility-related complaints and resolve issues promptly.
Education and Experience
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, Public Administration, or related field.
- Years of Relevant Experience: 2–4 years of experience in accessibility coordination, disability services, or student support.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health disabilities.
- Ability to assess needs and implement reasonable accommodations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and universal design principles.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
