The Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology carries out research into inherited susceptibility to common cancers and conducts significant large-scale analyses both within the Centre and as part of ongoing collaborations.

We seek an experienced study/trial manager to join our multi-disciplinary team working on Breast and Ovarian cancer Early Detection (BrOvED). This programme is led by Professors Nitzan Rosenfeld (Barts Cancer Institute), Douglas Easton (Centre for Cancer and Genetic Epidemiology) and Marc Tischkowitz (Genomic Medicine) and generously funded by CRUK. The successful candidate will be based at the University of Cambridge in the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology (led by Professor Antonis Antoniou). EMBED (https://www.ccge.medschl.cam.ac.uk/embed) is a study of women at high/moderate risk of breast cancer, recruited through regional screening centres. The post holder will liaise with statisticians, clinicians and laboratory scientists as well as key members of the related EMBRACE study team to ensure smooth running of the study.

This key role will require relevant experience of study coordination, the ability to work independently (including constant re-prioritisation of workload and time management skills) and to work as part of an extensive and varied team. We seek a motivated team player who is well organised, capable of using their own initiative, computer literate, able to work to deadlines, and able to manage large and often conflicting workloads with ease.

The role will include managing the ethics approvals and associated governance of the EMBED study, actively managing the recruitment of patients to a sub cohort, and ensuring data collection and follow up is completed for the main cohort.

The funds for this post is available for 12 months in the first instance.

This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will be considered for no less than 0.8 FTE per week.
