Accountabilities
Colgate University is seeking to build a pool of Temporary Painters to join the Paint Shop. Successful applicants might work extended periods due to medical leaves, shorter term for vacation coverage, or when there are additional needs.
Accountabilities include:
- Assessing, inspecting, and recommending wall and paint upgrades as needed.
- Matching existing finishes and proficiency with spackle, crack patches and drywall repairs.
- Knowledge of the use of putty knives, paint brushes, rollers, and spray gun, or a willingness to be trained.
- Removing, patching, and installing wallpaper as well as preparing, taping, and finishing mud unfinished sheetrock or other similar materials.
Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- Experience working independently, as well as part of a team.
- Experience coordinating work with other trades.
- Proven excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must be capable of working in a setting with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and visitors on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Painter is preferred.
- Displaying knowledge of paint mixing equipment.
Education
High School diploma (or equivalent) is required or a combination or education and experience from which comparable skills have been acquired is required.
