Scope of Position
The James Cancer Hospital is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients, visitors, and staff. The Environmental Services Area Supervisor functions to support the cleaning operation of The James.
The Environmental Services Area Supervisor is responsible for supervising the custodial workers in the day-to-day operations of cleaning The James. Environmental Services responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning inpatient and outpatient areas, offices, labs, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairs, and outside entrances, as well as other functions associated with the day-to-day operations of the facilities. This position encompasses communication, coordination, inspecting for the assigned areas, and actively promoting an Intensive Caring image supporting service excellence.
Position Summary
The Environmental Services Area Supervisor is responsible for the operational supervision of all assigned personnel associated with the day-to-day operations. The Environmental Services Area Supervisor is responsible for inspecting, assessing, coordinating, and delegating tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Associate degree or an equivalent combination of experience required. (Some years of supervisory experience and High School Graduate or GED Certificate). Experience in hospital/hotel housekeeping operations is preferred; Good communication skills, both verbal and written; Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements preferred; General knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word and Outlook software programs.
