Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Responsible for the overall physical condition, regulatory compliance and appearance of all assigned University facilities and real properties,
- in accordance with established Service Levels and occupant needs. Ensures efficient and effective management of physical resources, materials and equipment in the course of maintaining assigned facilities.
- Monitors and/or coordinates the efforts of Physical Plant Units providing equipment maintenance, cleaning, and construction/renovation and/or systems installation/repair, to assigned area.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in facility management, two of which served in a lead, supervisory or management capacity.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires the individual to stand, walk, talk and hear over 2/3 of the time; to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and to reach with arms and hands up to 2/3 of the time; to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell less than 1/3 of the time. The job requires that a weight be lifted or a force exerted up to 10 pounds 2/3 of the time, from 25 pounds up to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of the time. The position requires close, distance and color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception as well as the ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The individual in this position may be exposed to environmental conditions such as fumes or airborne particles up to 2/3 of the time; to bio-hazardous materials or toxic or caustic chemicals that require the use of Personal Protective Equipment, to risk of radiation, wet of humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions, work in high or precarious places, extreme heat or cold (non-weather), less than 1/3 of the time. Moderate noise is typical for the environment for this job.
