About the opportunity

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the University's copyright management strategy, providing specialised support and educational programs for staff, students, academics, and researchers. You will leverage your expertise to engage with external entities and peer networks, mitigating risks and championing open scholarship principles. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in shaping the University's approach to copyright management and open scholarship practices. Your core responsibilities will include:

Provide expert advice and education to students and staff on copyright matters for teaching, learning, and research, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Drive policy enhancements and manage processes to uphold copyright compliance, license agreements, and reporting, safeguarding the University against risks.

Develop and deliver training, collaborate with stakeholders, and stay abreast of industry developments to enhance the University's copyright practices and representation in national forums.

About you

You are a seasoned professional with a degree and substantial relevant experience, significant management expertise, or a blend of both, showcasing a strong foundation in the field. Your comprehensive understanding of Australian copyright legislation and its application within the higher education sector sets you apart, demonstrating your expertise in navigating this complex landscape. In addition, you demonstrate:

An ability to lead programs and outreach efforts and to develop, design and deliver training programs, educative resources, and professional activities, including workshops and communities of practice.

Knowledge of trends in copyright, open scholarship, open education practice, and scholarly publishing in higher education.

High level of interpersonal communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers and industry colleagues to deliver specified outcomes.

Salary and benefits

Full-time, continuing (permanent)

Located at either our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore campuses. Generous relocation support available.

HEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $99,711- $108,268 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $126,673.
