Support campus grounds upkeep and landscaping projects with hands-on horticulture in a vibrant and collaborative team.

Mō te tūka | The role

Join our Property Services team to help maintain and enhance the University's beautiful outdoor spaces. This hands-on role supports the Grounds Services Coordinator with daily maintenance tasks and landscape development, helping to ensure the campus remains welcoming, sustainable, and well-kept all year round.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Carrying out garden and grounds maintenance such as weeding, mowing, pruning, and planting
  • Supporting seasonal plant care, including irrigation, fertilising, and pest control
  • Assisting with landscape projects and development of outdoor spaces
  • Maintaining equipment and tools in safe working condition
  • Providing cover for the Grounds Services Coordinator when needed
  • Following Health & Safety procedures and promoting a safe work environment

Permanent role, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus. The salary is fixed at $60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

You will have:

  • A relevant horticulture qualification (preferred) and hands-on gardening experience
  • A current Class 1 driver's licence
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently
  • A proactive, safety-conscious approach and a willingness to learn
  • Physical fitness for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive, respectful attitude
