Description
The Division of Otolaryngology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a board eligible/board certified or equivalent fellowship trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join our comprehensive and growing team. Applications are invited to apply for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine.
Primary responsibilities include providing subspecialty Pediatric Otolaryngology patient care in Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, it’s Pediatric Specialty Centers, and ambulatory surgery centers. All aspects of Pediatric Otolaryngology will be practiced and encouraged. The practice is pediatric only with no adult clinical care responsibilities. The position will be focused along Connecticut’s shoreline in the areas of New Haven, Guilford, and Old Saybrook.
In addition to clinical duties, our faculty members provide education and training to Yale medical students and Yale otolaryngology residents. There is an expectation that faculty members contribute to the Division’s academic mission through research which can take multiple forms. Applicants should expect to work in a friendly and supportive environment focused on helping faculty succeed as academic surgeons.
The Division of Otolaryngology consists of 24 clinical faculty (4 Pediatric Otolaryngologists), 6 research faculty, and a residency program with 4 trainees per year. Pediatric otolaryngology faculty are supported by dedicated pediatric otolaryngology nurses and administrators and work closely with Pediatric Audiology and Speech Therapy colleagues. Yale Medicine has a wide referral network of primary and specialty care physicians.
Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the best children’s hospital in Connecticut and has achieved notable rankings in pediatric specialties in the most recent rankings. New Haven is located between Boston and New York. There are ample opportunities to live on the coast or in surrounding areas with small town charm. The greater area offers some of the top public and private schools in the country.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who desire to develop a career as an academic Pediatric Otolaryngologist. They should want to develop a strong clinical practice in Pediatric Otolaryngology, teach and mentor students and residents, and pursue academic goals based on their interests and background.
