The position is responsible for the full spectrum of surgical oncology diseases with an emphasis on Melanoma. The person in this position will participate in medical student, resident and fellow education as well as research and scholarly activity commensurate with qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- All aspects of melanoma/surgical oncology surgery
- Education of students, residents and fellows
- Scholarly activities related to surgical oncology melanoma and sarcoma
- Scope of work may span the Anschutz Medical Campus and affiliated satellite practices
- Provide care to patients in the outpatient Surgical Oncology melanoma clinics.
- Close collaboration with general surgeons, sub-specialty surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists and hospital staff will be necessary.
- Professional interaction with referring physicians and staff, emergency medical personnel and multidisciplinary providers is essential.
- Surgeon may at times be asked to provide cross coverage clinical care on different services.

Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO and Highlands Ranch, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Assistant Professor:
- MD/DO
- Board certified in General Surgery
- Surgical Oncology (or equivalent) Fellowship
- CO Medical license or license eligible
- Experience in clinical program administration.
- Fulfill the requirements to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado
- Experience in an academic environment with proven clinical, education and research accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hub-and-spoke model with a central academic Melanoma program and satellite community melanoma centers.
- Experience with Multidisciplinary research.
- Prior clinical and research experience in the evaluation and treatment melanoma patients
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of surgical oncology diseases
- Successful background in research and scholarly activities

Anticipated Pay Range:
HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Professor: $268,145 – $320,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
