Sustainable Development, Economic Growth and Finance (Ref: LB26-SF-005)

About the Project

We’re examining how financial systems, markets and policy frameworks can drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth across regions and sectors.

This theme explores the connections between finance, economic resilience and environmental sustainability, focusing on how fiscal and monetary policy, green finance and responsible investment can support long-term prosperity.

Our academics are investigating topics such as climate risk, gender-diverse financial leadership, corporate financial strategy and the measurement of social welfare beyond GDP. Researchers are analysing how crises, volatility and institutional change shape growth trajectories and policy outcomes, particularly in developing and emerging economies.

Collaboration across economics, finance, management and international business ensures that insights extend beyond theory to influence organisational practice and public policy. This research informs the design of financial systems that are more inclusive and responsive to global challenges, from climate change and inequality to digital transformation in finance.
