- Familiarity with standard security procedures for computers, systems, and protected data.
- Experience with Macintosh, iOS, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with web design.
- Ability to perform intermediate math computations.
- Experience with complex technical manuals.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people, including communicating technical concepts effectively.
- Associate degree with some additional continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the university’s technical resources and methods for requesting technical support.
- Experience managing inventory.
- Experience providing technical training on computer hardware and software.
- Familiarity with the hardware and software used by the department.
- Familiarity with the university’s hardware and software ordering process and purchasing procedures.
- Experience supporting technical needs of public programs.
- Familiarity with general installation procedures of numerous software packages.
- Familiarity with creating and managing survey content in Qualtrics.
Job Description:
This role involves providing technical support to the Anthropology Department’s faculty and staff, which includes installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware, software, and audiovisual equipment, as well as maintaining inventories, websites, and digital signage.
Job Duties:
- Provide technical support to the department’s faculty and staff.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
- Diagnose, analyze, and resolve computer and media equipment issues.
- Manage and maintain classroom technologies databases.
- Coordinate and supervise installation, testing, and monitoring of instructional equipment and software.
- Create and update procedural documentation.
- Contribute to network design to prevent intrusion, infection, or inappropriate use.
- Facilitate best practices for efficient utilization of servers, workstations, and software.
- Manage departmental websites, Share drives, Teams sites, and other Cloud services.
- Perform preventative maintenance against computer viruses.
- Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and licensing information.
- Train users on equipment and software usage.
- Coordinate services and resources to best support faculty/client needs.
- Prepare reports and training materials as required.
- Provide technical support for departmental events and public programming.
- Maintain departmental websites and digital signage.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
