The programme is based at the Denmark hill campus and teaching on the programme is a mix of online and face to face lecture and small tutor groups.
The role is to work with a small group of systemic trainees on the Eating Disorders pathway, and is therefore open to UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapists who have extensive experience in working in Eating Disorders services with children and adolescents.
About the role:
The role is to work with a small group of systemic trainees on the Eating Disorders pathway, and is therefore open to UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapists who have extensive experience in working in Eating Disorders services with children and adolescents.
Teaching will be delivered through lectures and practice tutor groups with smaller groups of students, where students will bring video recordings of their clinical work or role play practice. The tutor will work with a group of usually 6 students to review recordings of their clinical work and develop their systemic skills through feedback and discussion. A competencies framework is used to support trainees to self monitor their skills acquisition, and also as a structure for formative and summative assessment of clinical skills in assignments.
The post holder will meet weekly with the Module Lead and other systemic tutors to discuss relevant issues such as any concerns relating to students’ academic or clinical work and general welfare. The post holder will also conduct formative and summative assessments of clinical practice, including marking, and moderation of assignments by the dates agreed, and attending marking workshops and regular group supervision sessions with other tutors.
The post holder will also be a personal tutor for a number of trainees. In this role the post holder will meet termly with their personal tutees as a group, and will be available to meet with personal tutees individually where required. The personal tutor role involves sign-posting students to relevant sources of support (welfare and academic) within working hours.
The post-holder will also have a role as academic tutor to provide academic support for trainees where required.
This is a part time post (10% FTE; 3.5 hours per week) and you will be offered a contract for 1 year.
