Position Summary
Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) at
the University at Buffalo is searching for a
Systems
Administrator I to utilize cutting-edge technologies and
their expertise in computing and information systems to develop,
manage, and support sophisticated IT services including server and
cloud services. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the
operational excellence of UB, recognized as the top public research
university in New York and ranked among the top 40 public
universities nationwide. This is a campus-based position with the
possibility of hybrid-work.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide on-premises and cloud IT system support, including
windows servers
- Participate in design and implementation of new on-premises and
cloud IT infrastructure and systems
Communicate professionally & effectively with teammates,
management, peers, colleagues, and university constituents
Maintain and improve technical and professional knowledge and
skills
Work as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience in a
computer/technical field OR master's degree
OR equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States by
their start date. The University at Buffalo does not guarantee that

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with windows system administration
- Experience supporting the following technologies:
- Azure Cloud infrastructure design and management
- Active Directory
- MS Entra ID
- PKI
- Microsoft 365 platform and services including email
- VMWare
- HyperV
- Compute hardware support including HPE servers
- Listserv
- VEEAM backup
Physical Demands
Salary Range
$65,000 - $75,000
