SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Under direct supervision of the Infrastructure/Systems Manager and working with the Development Manager, provide high-level programming support for computing services to meet the administrative, research and teaching needs of the Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), which is made up of 7 academic units, over 12 research centers, multiple Dean's units, and a highly successful online Master's program. SEASnet is a complex computing network environment and data center consisting of over 150 servers, School-wide applications, 500 network devices, 2,000 user machines and approximately 6,000 accounts. The System Administrator position will be the technical expert for critical core services, such as networking, databases, email, backups, etc. and will work with both the infrastructure and applications group to ensure continuity and succession planning for SEAS IT services. The incumbent will seek and propose creative and innovative ways to deal with legacy systems and new projects required by the School.
