Systems Analyst Architect - Telecom
Job Description
Under direction of the Manager, Systems Analyst Architect - ENT is responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall voice systems. These systems include Contact Centers, Call Recording, Call Reporting and Collaboration. Defines system solutions, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies. The position requires staying on top of the industry trend and new technologies for the system architecture. Independent judgment and decision-making skills are required. Assists in supervising the team of System Analysts and Technicians. Responsible for delegating tasks to team members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Successfully maintain all software and hardware components related to the management and function of VoIP stations (firmware updates, software updates and hardware changes, etc.). Train and mentor Systems Analysts on the process and procedures to keep the VoIP software environment current and up to date. Responsible for documenting these processes and procedures.
- This position is responsible for the design and programming of telephone functions and features on the Nortel BCM, Northstar, and Cisco Unified Call Manager.
- Responsible for ensuring migrations from TDM to VoIP are designed and implemented following best practices.
- Responsible for the integration of other applications related to Voice/Video/Collaboration.
- This position is responsible for the design and programming of Voice Mail and Automated Attendants on Nortel Call Pilot and Cisco Unity Connect. ACD and Cisco UCCX systems. Monitor and correct VoIP system alarms and errors.
- Primary responsibility to ensure VoIP systems are upgraded to include software, hardware and peripheral equipment with assistance of System Analysts. Submit upgrades through the Change Management process.
- Design, implement, and maintain Collaboration systems such as IM & Presence/Jabber, Expressway-E, and Expressway-C and Video end-point devices.
- Develop Dial Plan between operating systems.
- Design, program and maintain, PRI, SIP trunking to support the voice network.
- Assist Manager in long range planning of Voice Services.
- Consult with users to determine most effective configurations to meet both their real and perceived Telephony requirements.
- Conduct on site surveys for additional services needed, and changes of telephone equipment.
- Responsible for backup support of Systems Analysts and Telecom Technicians as needed.
- Configure and install fax lines. Maintain and repair Paging interface systems. Coordinate leased line, Toll Free Service, etc. through outside vendors. Seek out new technology in order to satisfy developing communications needs of users.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, travel locally as needed, work on-call as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required
Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Preferred
- Directly related experience supporting an advanced telecommunication system/network may substitute for degree.
- Directly related experience working with and maintaining Cisco Unified Call Manager, Unity Connect and UCCX systems. Minimum version required is 11.x.
- Experience analyzing and preparing bids.
- Must be a highly detailed oriented individual with proven project management skills.
- Ability to punch down cross connects on both 66 and 110 blocks.
- Ability to tone cables using a toner/probe.
- Must be a highly detailed oriented individual with proven project management skills.
- 8 years CUCM experience
- 8 years Unity Connect experience
- 8 years UCCX experience
- IM & Presence (Jabber) experience
- Video Collaboration experience
- SIP configuration and testing
- PRI configuration and testing
- H.323 configuration and testing
- Experience managing large-scale telecommunications systems with 10k ports or greater
- Windows certification
- Linux certification
- CCVP
- CCNA - Voice
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and install equipment into network equipment racks
- Available for afterhours on call support
