Base Salary (pro-rata) $113,400 - $121,054 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The NHMRC CTC seek a motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our dynamic tuberculosis research team. In this role, you will contribute to high-impact clinical trials aimed at advancing the understanding, prevention, and treatment of tuberculosis, both locally and globally. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging researcher to build their academic profile, work alongside leading experts in the field, and be part of a supportive and forward-thinking research environment committed to improving global health outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Undertake high-quality clinical trials and epidemiological research, either independently or as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the discipline.
- Develop and enhance independent research skills under the guidance of senior academics, with increasing autonomy over time.
- Maintain high standards of research integrity and output, ensuring excellence and rigour across all research activities.
- Support and advise students within the discipline where appropriate, contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Contribute to academic administration and participate in faculty or school meetings, initiatives, and projects.
- Foster a collegial and inclusive workplace culture that values collaboration, diversity, and the pursuit of excellence.
About you
- Completed PhD in a relevant field and currently hold a TB CRE Postdoctoral Fellowship.
- Experience working in clinical trials related to tuberculosis, including as a part of international trials networks.
- Demonstrated experience conducting original research or engaging in scholarly activity, with a developing research profile in your area of expertise.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with academic and professional audiences.
- Sound planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including research tools, databases, and standard office software.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to providing high-quality service to students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- A rapid upwards trajectory in research, with a track record that is competitive for future research funding.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
