Examinations Officer (HEO 5)

  • Based in Student and Academic Services at the City West Campus
  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Commencement Salary: $76,304 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About You

You are a customer focussed professional that takes the initiative to manage competing demands to provide solutions and deliver results to achieve high quality operational and service outcomes. You are highly motivated with a keen attention to detail and excellent skills with systems and processes. You are trusted, authentic and self-aware and have high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credible and collaborative relationships with a wide range of people.

About the Role

You will undertake administrative activities to ensure the effective operation of the University’s examination and results processes with a primary focus on research degree examinations administration. This includes continuous improvement and provision of business processes, systems, training and support in relation to examination and results administration, and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders. You will provide support to the Business Analyst: Exams and Results and work closely with members of the Exams and Results team.

About Student and Academic Services (SAS)

The Student and Academic Services (SAS) Unit provides senior leadership, guidance and services which enable the University to maximise the success and experience of all UniSA students. Acting as a key partner and facilitator with academic units, and working collaboratively with other central units, SAS is responsible for the development and maintenance of student facing services, policy, information systems and procedural frameworks. The Unit coordinates and provides quality assurance for a number of University functions including student support, admissions, enrolments, research candidature, examinations, graduations, student finance and scholarships.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and skills in administration including high level of computer skills including use of database, spreadsheet, word processing, administrative information systems and electronic communication systems
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both with minimal supervision and as part of a team in delivering complex and high volume customer service, including experience in the supervision and training of staff
  • High level problem-solving skills and analytical ability including experience in interpreting and applying information, policies, regulations and guidelines, and providing specific advice and recommendations to others based on this information
  • Excellent organisation skills and experience in meeting deadlines and prioritising competing demands
