About the opportunity
This position puts you at the forefront of planning, coordinating, and executing esports events on campus. As the Student Support Coordinator (Esports), you will lead esports teams, manage event logistics, and promote student engagement in the world of esports. You'll play a vital role in creating a vibrant esports culture at SCU and boosting the University's reputation. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Team Management: Recruit and manage competitive esports teams, provide guidance and support to team members, and oversee daily operations of the esports arena.
- Event Coordination: Establish an inclusive esports program, plan and execute esports events such as tournaments and LAN parties, and coordinate logistics for successful event operations.
- Community Building: Cultivate a welcoming gaming community on campus through meetups, gaming sessions, and social events, including developing an online community for Southern Cross Esports members.
- Partnerships and Sponsorships: Identify and establish partnerships with local high schools, gaming industry stakeholders, sponsors, and businesses to support the esports program financially and logistically, while negotiating sponsorship agreements for long-term support.
About you
As a passionate, experienced Esports enthusiast, you have a bachelor's degree in sports management or extensive demonstrated experience in Esports management and implementation. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated expertise with streaming platforms, gaming hardware and software.
- Experience with team management, event planning, or community engagement preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms, gaming hardware, and software is a plus.

Part-time (50%), fixed term (12 Months)
Located at either our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, or Lismore campuses. Travel to Gold Coast campus will be required.
HEW Level 6. The full time equivalent (FTE) base salary ranges from $ 88,301 - $ 96,849 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total FTE remuneration package is up to $113,313.
