"Open Rank Professor/Instructor of Economics"

Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an Open Rank Professor/Instructor of Economics, to start work in the fall 2024 semester. Main responsibilities include teaching, development of curriculum, undergraduate advising, and university service.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching in small classes. The position requires mentorship of students, course development, curriculum revision, and continued improvement of a business major. A PhD in Economics is strongly preferred, though candidates with a Master’s degree in economics or a related field will also be considered.

Candidates should have graduate training and teaching experience in Economics. Teaching responsibilities will include microeconomics, and macroeconomics, as well as introductory and upper-division business courses relating to the expertise of the candidate and needs of the program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD in Economics is strongly preferred
