The Department of Economics of the University of Manchester seeks one full-time predoctoral fellow (Grade 5) to work for two years in a research project concerning African economic history and political economy. This position is generously funded by the Penha Foundation and the fellow will be responsible for data survey, systematization, and collection in Portugal (Lisbon area) and, sporadically, in Angola (nearby Luanda). This position is ideal for candidates with interest and plans to pursue future doctoral studies in global economic history, historical political economy, and/or development studies with an expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa.
