Description

This position is responsible for the daily operational leadership and planning for areas of recruitment and admissions, consistent with Simpson University policy. Primary duties involve recruiting, training, supervising admissions staff to perform planning and executing student admission activities for the undergraduate student body and all of the University’s graduate schools. The strategic planning of enrollment goals are also the primary responsibility of this position. Activities for on campus C&MA district and annual conventions, college and high school fairs are planned and executed by this position.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree required; Master’s degree in related field preferred
  2. Must be creative/innovative with a marketing/sales/recruiting mindset based on higher education experience
  3. Skilled at mining data and analyzing information to guide decision-making
  4. Minimum 5 years of admissions/recruitment experience, with an understanding of monthly recruitment goal setting, managing the admissions/marketing funnel, monitoring performance dashboards and maximizing the use of a CRM
  5. Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to lead. Must have knowledge in financial aid, ethical recruitment practices, and work within the standards set forth by NACAC, NACCAP, AACRAO, the CCCU and the Department of Education
  6. Strong computer application and database management skills such as CRM for recruitment (Target X)
  7. Self-starter, highly motivated, well-organized and a team player in a fast-paced work environment
  8. Excellent organizational, administrative and leadership abilities, including hiring, training, leading and developing productive and healthy teams
  9. An alumnus of Simpson University or another CCCU member institution preferred
  10. Must have and maintain a California Driver's License and the ability to drive within California and fly on commercial airlines occasionally

Essential Functions:

  1. Lead the new student recruitment efforts to grow the enrollments for Simpson University’s undergraduate and graduate schools and programs. This includes supervision of team leaders and the hiring of new personnel
  2. Assist in the development of the enrollment management plan
  3. Monitor the performance of all admissions staff and hold accountable for reaching their benchmarks and goals
  4. Function as the liaison between recruitment staff and the area of Student Financial Services to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of financial aid to new students
  5. Provide quality relational connections between the recruitment staff and the areas of retention, student development and the registrar office to assure the smooth transition of incoming students to the University
  6. Supervise communications and data management team, collaborate on efforts to support all programs through communication and development of print and web marketing materials, website content, and external prospective student lead generation source management
  7. Assist as a staff member on Board of Trustee subcommittees.
  8. Work closely with the Academic Deans for undergraduate and graduate programs to ensure admissions efforts across the campus, including the engagement of faculty in the recruitment/admissions process
  9. Supervise Admissions Directors for the hiring and training of their staff, as well as providing training directly to recruitment staff. Critical areas include recruitment travel, tele-counseling, campus visits, customer service, financial aid, university policy, admissions policies, and the recruitment CRM
  10. Participate in recruitment, including travel to generate leads and build relationships/partnerships with key influencers
  11. Maintain a commitment to continuous improvement and pursuing excellence in all aspects of student recruitment/admissions
  12. Work closely with the Marketing Department for timely and quality promotional material, web-based tools, and the website
  13. Manage budgets for recruitment, admissions operations, and admissions data and communications
  14. Represent Simpson University in various internal and external meetings and training opportunities
