Job Description

Post-doctoral position in physical function and aging (Canada)

Division/Department: School of Rehabilitation Sciences, McMaster University

Supervisor: Ayse Kuspinar, PT, PhD

An enthusiastic and self-motivated post-doctoral fellow is sought to study physical function and mobility in older Canadians. The successful candidate should have a PhD in rehabilitation science, epidemiology, biostatistics or a closely related field. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with members of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA; https://www.clsa-elcv.ca/) and the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA; http://mira.mcmaster.ca/). The start date is October 2024.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

One postdoctoral position for one year is available in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University, Canada.

Terms

The fellowship is a one-year full-time position with an annual salary of $50,000, plus benefits. The position is available in October 2024.

Requirements

  • The fellowship is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada at the time of application.
  • Completion of a PhD in the last 5 years is required along with excellent research experience.
  • Experience using statistical analysis software such as R, SAS, Stata, or SPSS and manuscript writing.
  • Experience and understanding of physical mobility and function will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in multivariate and longitudinal analysis will be considered an advantage.
  • Applicants currently enrolled in a doctoral program must provide proof of eligibility for completion of all aspects of their work prior to starting the position.
