What’s the job?  

We are looking for an experienced Senior Learning Experience Designer to join our team to assist with the leadership and management of a high-performing team of Learning Experience Designers. This includes leading and facilitating the development and delivery of engaging, innovative learning design solutions for hybrid, blended and online courses. 

In this role, you will drive and provide critical support throughout our fast-paced subject development cycles, while being responsible for learning design and direction as part of the broader course development process. You will work alongside academics to advise on and ensure consistency in the implementation of learning design strategies across a range of courses informed by your deep understanding of best practice principles of adult and online learning and teaching, 

Day-to-day accountabilities: 

  • Lead, coach and develop a high performing team of Learning Experience Designers 
  • Develop and supervise the implementation of learning design strategies across a range of courses 
  • Ensure sound learning design advice and solutions are integrated and utilised during course and subject development 
  • Ensure the learning design and development is informed by best practice in Hybrid, Blended and Online (HBO) learning 
  • Provide advice on, and implementation of best practice in authentic assessment design to ensure course and subject learning outcomes are achieved 
  • Provide clear guidance on governance and ensure quality assurance of course and subject content 
  • Design innovative learning and teaching experiences at the subject level, whilst ensuring product level coherence and alignment to accredited curriculum.

Who you are:  

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience in either Learning Design-related and/or tertiary teaching roles involving hybrid / online delivery (ideally a minimum of three years) 
  • The ability to work under pressure and be adaptable to achieve deadlines within a highly dynamic project and product environment 
  • Proven experience in identifying issues and proposing solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in leading and managing a high performing team to successfully meet required outcomes, standards and deadlines 
  • Experience in leading curriculum design from an educational, universal learning design principles and regulatory compliance perspective 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with educational technology and learning tools 
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering and managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholder management 
  • Demonstrated expertise using educational technologies and  learning management systems to facilitate high-quality, innovative learning experiences. 
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning theories and contemporary learning frameworks for online delivery. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

Prior experience in curriculum development for business and/or hospitality content is highly regarded.
