Tennessee Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.Essential FunctionsProvide developmentally appropriate activities and child specific guidance for children and families in middle Tennessee. Collect data and enter service logs and contact notes in a statewide database in a timely manner. Update child data in a timely manner for 6 month and annual meetings. Maintain and establish relationships with families and other designated service providers including Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS). Attend required meetings, staff training, and conferences as required that will, at times, include overnight travel. Work as a team with other developmental therapists, senior developmental therapist and director to provide developmentally appropriate and evidence-based early intervention services. Travel to Upper Cumberland counties.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies (Child Development), Early Intervention, or related field. Related field means a degree in Deaf Education or Visual Disabilities, Special Education K-12, Elementary Education, Communication Disorders and Speech Language Pathology. Social Work, nursing and psychology degrees are not considered related fields. This requirement does not apply to Grantee staff who provided these services prior to July 1, 2014.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or Doctorate degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies (Child Development), Early Intervention, or related field. Experience working with children birth to 5 years of age. Experience working in an early intervention program. At least three years of Administrative experience.Work HoursTypical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits
SalaryCommensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time grant funded position; its continuation is contingent upon future funding.Benefits InformationThe University offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays.
