Job Description Summary 

The Department of Philosophy at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning August 15, 2025. Area of specialization: Socially Relevant Philosophy of Science. Areas of competence: AI Ethics. We are especially interested in candidates willing to regularly teach sections of “Introduction to Ethics in Science and Engineering”. Teaching interests in history of philosophy welcome. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications 

PhD in Philosophy by August 15, 2025 is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
